Regency Construction Services, Inc. served as the General Contractor for the Jameson Crane Surgical Skills Center which facilitates training for medical students, residents, fellows, and surgeons on new techniques and technologies.

Regency served as the General Contractor for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center – Jameson Crane Surgical Skills Lab. The lab was constructed in two phases within the third floor of the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute and completed while the building was occupied.

This 5,000 SF lab provides a controlled environment to assist medical professionals and trainees as they test the latest products, advance their technical skills, and explore innovative new procedures. The space consists of a skills lab, cadaver storage, clean storage, surgical scrub sinks, and offices. This lab is a regional resource for training medical students, residents, fellows and established surgeons on new techniques and technologies. The space also helps OSU attract top talent into their healthcare programs.

In Phase I, Regency renovated an existing operating room space, which included upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems. In Phase II, the team constructed the Surgical Skills Lab using a white box space that had been established as part of the original building. Regency managed the rest of the lab construction from there, including relocating / installing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, installing the floor, ceiling, and necessary equipment, and creating supports for specialized lighting and devices. The Ohio State logo was painted and laid into the epoxy flooring.

Regency self-performed the rough carpentry, installation of toilet room accessories, blocking, and installation of doors, frames, and hardware on this project.
