Regency Construction Services, Inc. constructed the Marilyn and David Palisin ‘64 Commons for St. Edward High School, adding a new dining space and comfortable areas for students to gather and study before and after school.

Regency served as the Construction Manager at Risk to construct the St. Edward High School Marilyn and David Palisin ’64 Commons. In the words of President Jim Kubacki, the space serves the school community as “the centerpiece for forming lifelong friendships.”

This 15,000 SF addition to the private, Catholic, college preparatory high school created a new main entrance as well as new student dining and kitchen spaces. The new servery/cafeteria includes a self-serve station, salad bar, pizza station, and two drink stations with wide-open space for tables and chairs. The second-floor mezzanine overlooks the cafeteria with a gas fireplace and provides a comfortable space for students to work and gather before and after school. Energy-efficient windows provide ample natural light, and a large mural completed by a local artist highlights the school’s values.

Regency self-performed the rough carpentry packages on this project, including millwork, doors, frames, and hardware. Regency also managed construction of stucco porticos at the main entrance, installation of a large (12’ x 6.5’) video wall in the cafeteria for community presentations, paving and landscaping of an outdoor patio and courtyard, installation of an elevator for ADA accessibility, and installation of a stairway that connects visitors in the addition to the Student Activities Center in the existing building.
