Regency Construction Services, Inc. managed the construction of Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Orange Branch, as part of the multi-phased master plan. The new library consists of private reading areas, children’s and teen sections, and meeting rooms.
Regency served as the Construction Manager as Agent on the new Orange Library Branch for the Cuyahoga County Public Library.
The new facility included:
Circulation desk and lobby
Open reading spaces with book stacks
Children and teen programming areas
Private study rooms
Two new public meeting rooms with capacities of 66 and 82 people, respectively
Staff workroom and staff break room
Branch Manager’s Office
Back-office processing area
Book drop
Storage and maintenance spaces
Parking lot with associated site improvements
The new library was constructed utilizing a raised floor, which meant all of the technology and HVAC systems were housed under the library floor. The décor featured exposed glue-lam and wooden beams, as well as a fireplace where wood beams crossed the ceiling for a cozy feel. The new library also achieved LEED Silver Certification and incorporated bioswales for stormwater management.
