Regency is serving as Construction Manager at Risk for the renovation of  existing Polsky Building into the Knight Center for Creative Engagement  for The University of Akron. The multi-phased project will focus on better  connecting the University with downtown Akron, with particular focus on  renovations of the Main Street entrance on the first floor of the facility,  the High Street entrance on the third floor, and the connections between  them, including the new entrances along University Avenue. The project will  include renovations in occupied spaces, construction/site management with  limited staging and close proximity to adjacent occupied structures, and the  development of multiple Guaranteed Maximum Prices (GMPs).  

This project will be phased, with the first phase renovating spaces on upper  floors into disaster science classroom and lab spaces, and reconfiguring  administrative spaces. The second phase will then transform the entrance,  first floor and mezzanine, creating e-sport space, a student art gallery, medical  offices and a large combined staircase / seating area in the open first floor. An  artistic tiled wall will be carefully removed from this space to be maintained  and reincorporated into the final project.
