Regency Construction Services, Inc. served as General Contractor for the interior and exterior renovation of the historic Bull House, located in the heart of Solon.

Regency provided General Contracting services for the renovation of the City of Solon's historic Bull House. Named for city co-founder Lorenzo Solon Bull, the Bull home is believed to be the oldest property in the city, built in 1835.

In 2020, Regency was onboarded to the project to renovate both the interior and exterior of the historic home. While Regency was able to complete the exterior work deemed necessary for the preservation of the home, the interior renovation was later postponed due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Renovation efforts were concentrated to the home’s first floor and main living spaces. Work included wood reframing and drywall, electrical and HVAC upgrades, new insulation and plumbing, fresh paint and flooring, and new appliances and finishes. Regency self-performed the installation of doors, frames, hardware, casework, wood framing, drywall and restroom accessories outfitting.

The completed renovation of the Bull House will allow the site to host public and educational events, as part of the city’s plan to expand the footprint and improve the utilization of Bicentennial Park. The city’s long-term goal is to reconfigure Bainbridge Road to create a contiguous and safe park that can be used for combined events with the Bull House, Historical Society, Center for the Arts and Town Hall.
