Regency served as the Design Builder for the design and construction of Stillwater Place at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo--a 10,900 SF event center which hosts private and corporate functions, meetings, trade shows, weddings, and educational events.

The main event hall seats 300 guests and includes an outdoor patio with a wood burning fireplace and panoramic views overlooking Waterfowl Lake. The wood-built reception space includes a warming kitchen and state-of-the art audiovisual systems. The interior of the lodge can be subdivided to accommodate simultaneous events.

Regency self-performed the carpentry scopes of work on this project, including rough carpentry, window, door frames and hardware, wood dance floor, siding, and rough sawn beams.Our team also established new connections to existing Zoo infrastructure for the facility’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

The project site is situated within an active zoo adjacent to animal exhibits, which called for diligent planning and heightened communication with the Cleveland Metroparks. Construction activities were aligned with American Zoological Association (AZA) standards and planned with the safety of zoo patrons, staff, and the animals in mind. For example, creative site logistics and material delivery schedules were used to overcome limited access to the site and to limit noise and activities that could disturb the zoo patrons and animals nearby.
