Regency Construction Services, Inc. renovated and expanded the Cuyahoga Community College Advanced Automotive Technology Center (AATC) which created space for faculty offices, a student lounge, classrooms, and a space for the students to learn and expand their mechanic skills and techniques.

Regency served as the Construction Manager at Risk to expand and renovate the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Advanced Automotive Technology Center (AATC) at the Western Campus. Students pursuing careers in automotive technology today require a high-tech environment to learn the skills they need, so the goal of the project was to make the AATC look and feel like a real car dealership, complete with a showroom and a maintenance center.

This multi-phased program included modernized and expanded lab space and classroom space with two ground-up building additions to the south and west. Regency also constructed additional faculty and staff offices and a student lounge / collaboration space. Regency installed ten automobile lifts and new overhead garage doors, constructed ADA accessible restrooms, and upgraded the transmission and tool rooms.

The building received a new aluminum panel storefront as well as upgrades to electrical, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical and exhaust systems. While the South Addition was constructed with structural steel, the West Addition is a pre-engineered metal building, similar to the way dealerships are constructed today.

Regency self-performed some finish carpentry on this project, including doors, frames, toiletroom accessories, wall panels and blocking.

Regency worked closely with Tri-C, program staff in the building, and our subcontractors to arrange special phasing and swing spaces that would allow us to complete the full scope while school was in session.
